My pottery designs are simple, elegant and intended for everyday enjoyment. Customers will often cradle one of my bowls between their palms as if they are holding a small bird, then gently smile and say “this feels right.” I spent several months studying the Japanese Tea Ceremony and it transformed the way I work as a potter. Part of the ceremony involves sitting quietly, contemplating the tea bowl and appreciating each of the details that make it unique. In my pottery studio I put that same sense of care and attention into creating each piece. When a customer picks up a piece of my pottery and expresses that same feeling, then I know it’s found the right home where it will be part of someone’s daily life as they contemplate the day, celebrate with family and friends, or create a beautiful single stem flower arrangement
